Objectives:
1. Discuss the differential advantages and disadvantages of genetic testing versus platelet function testing to predict and assess the physiologic effect of clopidogrel on platelets
2. List the strengths and weaknesses of clinical trials exploring the use of platelet function testing to predict post-procedural ishemic events and bleeding and perioperative bleeding risk
3. Describe how the results of ongoing clinical trials may be used to individualize thienopyridine regimens
